Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what information CashBear collects when you use our point of sale app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the app, this website, and the support we provide.

Information we collect

Account details you give us — your name, email address, business name, and the staff accounts you create.

Sales data generated as you use the app: items, prices, taxes, discounts, and the time and total of each sale.

Device and usage data such as your device model, operating system version, app version, and crash reports. We use this to keep the app working, not to identify you personally.

How we use your information

  • To run your registers, sync your data across devices, and show your reports.
  • To send receipts to the customers you choose to send them to.
  • To provide support when you contact us, and to notify you about service changes.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use your sales data to advertise to you or your customers.

Payment information

Card payments are handled by our payment providers. Full card numbers are never stored on your device or on our servers — we receive only the result of the transaction and the last four digits, so a sale can be matched to a receipt or refund.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that make the product work — hosting, payment processing, error reporting, and email delivery — and only what each of them needs.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

Keeping your data

We keep your account and sales data for as long as your account is open, and for a period afterwards where record-keeping or tax rules require it. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Sales and inventory can be exported as CSV from the app at any time. For anything else, email us and we will respond.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, including the right to object to certain processing or to complain to a regulator.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and give staff only the permissions they need.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
